RECENT EVENTS SPRING / SUMMER 2008

Health and Human Rights Leadership Awards

On May 19, 2008, more than 300 friends, supporters, and volunteers of DOW gathered to honor our 2008 Health and Human Rights Leadership Awards honorees—Bill Roedy, Vice Chairman of MTV Networks and DOW Board Member; Nicholas Kristof, Pulitzer Prize-winning columnist of The New York Times; and the Wharton Healthcare International Volunteer Project.

The evening highlighted DOW’s efforts, and those of our honorees and partners, to address the needs of children and youth around the world.  DOW has implemented a wide range of initiatives that enable communities to meet needs that are crucial to healthy development, including child survival and maternal health programs in rural Kenya, care and support for street and at-risk children and youth in Russia and Ukraine, and child protection initiatives in Nepal.
